Christine Brennan, 9, of Paso Robles holds up her finished flag, which will be displayed at the library at the end of the month for the poetry celebration.

Local children Thursday helped create poetry flags to hang in a larger piece of art celebrating National Poetry Month at the Paso Robles City Library.

Children, teens and adults can still visit the library, at Spring and 11th streets, through the end of the month to create their own poetry flags that will then be sewn together with others to create large banners to be hung around the library, said Heather Stephenson, the Children’s Services Librarian.

Thursday’s project took place at the city’s Library Study Center at 3600 Oak St., Suite 101.
